Aminul Islam appointed new MD of Dhaka WASA

Retired Secretary Aminul Islam has been appointed as the new Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) for a one-year contract, the Ministry of Public Administration announced on Tuesday.


According to the notification, under the Government Service Act, 2018, Aminul Islam has been appointed on a contractual basis for one year from the date of joining, provided he relinquishes any other profession, business, or employment in any government, semi-government, or private organization. Other terms and conditions of the appointment will be determined through the contract.

Earlier, on Sunday (Mar 8), the previous MD of Dhaka WASA, Abdus Salam Bapari, resigned from his post.

The following day, Muhammad Moniruzzaman, Additional Secretary of the Local Government Division, was assigned the responsibilities of MD on an additional charge basis through an official order issued by the Local Government Division, reports UNB.
