
The deceased were identified as Tuhin, 20, son of Jahangir Alam, and Yamin, 20, son of Emdadul Haque — both residents of Ganeshpur village in Manda upazila. Tuhin died on the spot, while Yamin succumbed to his injuries on the way to Manda Upazila Health Complex.
The accident occurred around 7:30 pm near the Milon Brick Kiln close to Satbaria intersection on the Naogaon-Rajshahi highway.
The injured were identified as Ashiq, son of Akbar Ali of Mirpur village; Sadiq, son of Akhtar Hossain of Ganeshpur village; Tarun, son of Sabuj Hossain; and Anwar Hossain, son of Amjad Hossain of Srirampur village.
After receiving initial treatment at a local hospital, all four were transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
According to local sources, six friends were traveling from Satihat to the Ferry Ghat on three motorcycles when one of the bikes collided head-on with a truck near the brick kiln area, leaving Tuhin dead on the spot and the others badly injured.
Dr. Priyanka Chowdhury, Medical Officer at Manda Upazila Health Complex, said that five injured individuals were brought to the hospital around 8 pm, reports UNB.
“One was declared dead, and the remaining four, all in critical condition, were referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment,” she added.
Manda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Raihan Ashekin said police recovered the bodies and informed the families of the deceased.
“Legal steps will be taken following an investigation into the accident,” he added.
