A high-level meeting on preparations for the upcoming national election was held on Tuesday at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus chaired the meeting, which brought together senior government officials, election authorities, and key stakeholders to assess the overall progress of electoral arrangements.

Discussions centred on ensuring a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful election process. The meeting reviewed crucial matters including logistics, security deployment, voter awareness, and coordination among the Election Commission, law enforcement agencies, and the civil administration.

Professor Yunus reaffirmed the interim government’s strong commitment to upholding democratic values and ensuring a credible electoral transition. He stressed the importance of neutrality, efficiency, and transparency at every stage of the election process, urging all relevant agencies to act swiftly and collaboratively.

Emphasising the need to build public confidence and maintain international credibility, he called on all departments to carry out their duties responsibly and without delay.

The meeting marked a significant step forward in implementing the national election roadmap, with follow-up sessions scheduled later this week to finalise operational details.
