A biker and a cyclist were killed in a head-on collision in Kushtia on Thursday night.



 A biker and a cyclist  were killed in a head-on collision in Kushtia on Thursday night, police said.

The deceased were identified as Akib Hossain, an engineering student of Kushtia Polytechnic Institute, and Shobuj Hossain, a worker of Kiam Metal factory.

The accident occurred around 11pm when  Akib, a resident of Kahajanagar Madrasa Para, was riding the bike home.

"The biker crashed into Shobuj’s bicycle near the Fuji Ice-cream intersection in the Kumargara area," said Idris Ali, officer-in-charge of Kushtia Highway police station.

Locals rushed both of them to Kushtia General Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries around 11.30pm.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, said OC Idris.
