Two killed in Gaibandha road crashes

Two people were killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Palashbari and Sadullapur upazilas of Gaibandha on Wednesday morning.


In Sadullapur, Golam Rabbani, a resident of Shibpur in Sahapara Union of Gaibandha Sadar upazila, was killed when a bus collided with the motorcycle he was riding while taking his son to school around 9:30 am.

According to locals, Rabbani was thrown onto the road after the collision and died at the spot.

His son sustained serious injuries and was taken to Sadullapur Upazila Health Complex.

Sadullapur Police Station Sub-Inspector Abu Taleb said Rabbani was an employee of the accounting department of Sadullapur Govt College.

In another accident in Palashbari, microbus driver Masud Rana was killed and another person was injured when a passenger bus collided head-on with a microbus near Majhipara, adjacent to Sakoa Bridge, around 10 am, reports UNB.

Officer-in-Charge of Palashbari Police Station Sarwar Alam said police personnel have been sent to the spot.
