Two killed in Sherpur road accident

Two persons were killed in a road accident in Sonnyashi Vita area on Sherpur-Nalitabari road under Nalitabari upazila of the district in the early hours of today.
The deceased were auto-rickshaw driver Kamrul Hossain, son of Ekdil Hossain of Khariapara village of Nalitabari upazila and Shahidul Islam, son of Salehabad Krishnapatti area of the same upazila.
Quoting locals, police said the accident occurred when a vehicle hit a locally-made auto-rickshaw in the area, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nalitabari Thana Md Ashrafuzzaman confirmed the incident, saying the bodies were handed over to their families without autopsy, reports BSS.
Legal action will be taken in this regard, he added.
