3 killed in Kishoreganj road crash

Three people were killed and two others injured when a bus rammed into a cattle-laden pickup van on the Kishoreganj-Pakundia road at Sukhia Bazar in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj district on Monday.


The deceased were identified as Billal, son of Abu Syed, Khurshid, son of Abdus Sobhan, and Khokon, the pickup van driver of Shibpur upazila in Narsingdi district.

The accident occurred around 3 pm when a Kishoreganj-bound bus of ‘Classic Paribahan’ from Dhaka hit the Narsingdi-bound cattle-laden pickup van, leaving three people dead on the spot and two others injured, said SM Arifur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Pakundia Police Station.

Six of the seven cattle being transported in the pickup van also died in the accident.

The injured were taken to Pakundia Upazila Health Complex, reports UNB.
