Trump Calls Modi ‘Nicest Looking Man’ and ‘Killer’

US President Donald Trump has described Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the “nicest looking man” while also calling him a “killer,” during remarks made in South Korea ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.

Speaking at a media briefing, Trump praised Modi’s leadership and personality, saying, “Prime Minister Modi is the nicest looking guy. He looks like he would like to have your father. He is a killer, his stuff is… no, we will fight… Whoa, is this the same man that I know?”

Trump added that trade negotiations between India and the United States were progressing well and that a new deal would be finalised soon. “I have great respect and love for Prime Minister Modi. We have a great relationship,” he said.

The former US president arrived in South Korea for a series of meetings with global leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, focusing on trade and energy cooperation across the Indo-Pacific region.

Trump’s latest remarks come amid ongoing trade talks between Washington and New Delhi, following steep US import tariffs of up to 50% on Indian goods imposed in August as part of penalties over India’s continued oil imports from Russia.
