Mahmoud Al-Hosary is brought to Shifa Hospital in Gaza City after being injured on his way to an aid distribution center, Thursday, July 3, 2025.

At least 94 Palestinians were killed overnight in Gaza, including 45 people who were reportedly trying to access humanitarian aid, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry and local hospitals.

The Israeli military has not commented on the latest strikes.

Among the dead, five were killed near sites operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) — a U.S.-backed aid initiative supported by Israel — while 40 others died while waiting for aid at various locations across the territory.

Amnesty International accused Israel and the GHF of "militarising" the aid system and using starvation as a weapon of war, which the group claims amounts to genocide. The organisation alleged that the aid distribution system was designed to entrap desperate, starving civilians.

Israel has denied the allegations, describing them as baseless and politically motivated. It continues to contest genocide accusations currently being heard at the International Court of Justice.

Airstrikes also struck shelters for displaced people, killing 15 in the Muwasi area and another 15 at a school in Gaza City.

Since the war began on 7 October 2023, Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that more than 57,000 Palestinians have been killed, with women and children making up over half the death toll.

The rising casualties come amid ongoing ceasefire negotiations. U.S. President Donald Trump recently announced that Israel had agreed to a 60-day truce proposal, though progress has stalled due to Hamas’ counter-demands.

The conflict began after Hamas-led militants attacked southern Israel, killing 1,200 people and abducting around 250 others.
