Exceptional initiative to protect stray dogs in bitter cold

Patuakhali: The common people of Kalapara coast of Patuakhali are shivering in bitter cold. The same is the case with animals. Members of Animal Lovers of Patuakhali have taken an innovative initiative to protect stray dogs from this cold weather.

Since Saturday evening, they have been roaming around Kalapara town and rural areas and spreading jute bags filled with straw at various places for the protection of dogs. 'This is a dog bed' has been written on these bags. The organization has provided these beds made for about two hundred dogs.

Kalapara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Rabiul Islam, Team Leader of Kalapara branch of Animal Lovers of Patuakhali Bayjid Munshi and member Masud Hasan along with other members were present at the time.

Members of Animal Lovers of Patuakhali said that such an initiative has been taken to provide some warmth to stray dogs. - Gofran Palash
