Two children drown in Brahmanbaria

Two children drowned in a pond at Kuttapara North area under Sarail upazila here at noon today.


The deceased were identified as Md Takrim, 3, son of Akter Hossain of Kuttapara North, and Md Adnan, 5, son of Arafat Mia of Uchaliapara village under the same upazila.

Witnesses said the two children were playing by the pond when they accidentally fell into the water. Hours later, locals found their bodies floating in the pond.

After recovering from the pond, locals immediately took them to the Upazila Health complex where the doctor on duty announced them dead.

Sarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Morshedul Alam Chowdhury confirmed the incident and said a police team immediately visited the incident place after being informed and the dead bodies were handed over to the families, reports BSS.
