Father, son die from electrocution in Chandpur

A man and his son died from electrocution at Kaddipanchgaon village of Shahmahmudpur union in Sadar upazila here today. 


The deceased were Abdur Rob Tapdar, 60, a resident of Tapdar house in the area, and his son Sayem Tapdar, 23.

Family members said Abdur Rob and his son went to soak jute plants in beel water next to their house around 1.30 pm. At that time, a live electric wire snapped and fell into beel water. Abdur Rob got tangled in the torn wire and got electrocuted. His son Sayem also got electrocuted when he tried to rescue his father.

Locals rescued and sent them to Chandpur Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared them dead, reports UNB. 

Officer-in-Charge of Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station Bahar Mia said, "I have heard about the incident, but no one has filed any complaint regarding this incident yet.”
