Bodies of two minors recovered from pond in Sherpur

The bodies of two minors were recovered from a pond in Nalitabari upazila of the district early today, around 12 hours after they went missing.

The deceased were Rohan, 7, and Ismail, 8. Their bodies were recovered from a pond in Madhya Nakshi area of Koloshpar union.
 
According to local residents, the two minors did not know how to swim but occasionally entered nearby ponds to catch fish. They went out of their homes at noon on Sunday and did not return.

Early Monday, local residents spotted the bodies of two minors floating in a large pond in the Madhya Nakshi area.
 
Nalitabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman confirmed the recovery of the bodies. He said the bodies were handed over to the families without autopsies following requests from the relatives, reports BSS.
