Fisherman's body recovered from river char in Kalapara

The body of a fisherman was recovered from a river char in Kalapara on Sunday.



Patuakhali: The Payra Port Naval Police recovered the body of a fisherman named Bhadra Sikder (37) from a river char in Kalapara, Patuakhali. The body was recovered from the Tiakhali river char adjacent to Londa village of Dhankhali union of the upazila around 11 am on Sunday. The deceased Bhadra Sikder is the son of Yusuf Ali Sikder of Londa village of the union.

According to local sources and police, Bhadra Sikder is a fisherman by profession and he used to spend most of his time in the river char. He had also fished in heavy rains two days ago. However, locals said that this fisherman was very brave and did not stay at home.

Payra Port Naval Police In-charge Nayan Karkun said that blister marks were seen on some parts of his body. We are in the process of recovering the body and sending it to the Patuakhali morgue for post-mortem. The cause of his death will be known once the autopsy report is received. - Gofran Palash
