Paturia-Daulatdia ferry movement resumes after 6 hours

The ferry movement between Paturia-Daulatdia river route resumed after 6 hours of suspension due to dense fog disruption, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC0 Paturia Ghat sources said.


BIWTC Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager (DGM) Nasir Mahmud Chowdhury said the ferry movement was suspended at 12.50 am on Thursday as the dense fog blanketed the river bed. He said four ferries Kopoti, Shahid Borkot, Khan Jahan Ali and Bonolota were waiting at Paturia Ghat, six ferries Kumilla, Vigar, Keramat Ali, Hasna Hena, Gouri and Bir Shreshtha Matiur Rahman were at Daulatdia Ghat and four ferries Bir Shreshtha Ruhul Amin, Bir Shreshtha Jahangir, Golam Maoula and Shah Enayetpuri were in anchored in the middle of the river Padma, he said.

The ferry movement started at 6.45 am today (Thursday) when the deep fog disappeared, the sources said.

Meanwhile, the ferry movement was suspended for 6.30 hours from 1 am to 7.30 am in Aricha-Kazirhat on the Padma River, reports BSS.
