Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) is set to launch 'Pink Bus Service', a special facility designated for women, in capital Dhaka tomorrow, aiming to ensure safe, comfortable and smooth travel for women on the city streets.

The initiative to launch this special bus service has been taken as part of the implementation of the government's election manifesto.

One of the main features of this service is that the buses will be operated by women drivers and conductors, a press release said.

Through the service, steps have been taken to increase the participation of women in public transport and create a safe and comfortable environment for women passengers.

BRTC sources said the women's bus service operation activities will be inaugurated at the BRTC's Dhaka Truck Depot premises in Tejgaon here at 10 am tomorrow.

Senior officials of the relevant ministries and departments of the government will be present at the event.
