Implemented under an NBR-led project, the Bangladesh Single Window is an online platform that enables importers and exporters to electronically submit applications for Certificates, Licenses, and Permits (CLP) required for customs clearance.
Using the system, traders can obtain CLPs automatically after registering with their Business Identification Number (BIN) at the BSW portal (www.bswnbr.gov.bd), according to a press release from NBR.
The BSW platform streamlines the entire process of import-export documentation by allowing relevant government agencies to issue certifications simultaneously online.
It reduces time and cost, ensures transparency and accountability by minimizing human interaction, and helps promote trade and investment by building trust among domestic and international businesses.
As of July 20, 2025, the BSW system has already issued 431,169 CLPs.
Among these, 85.30% were processed and issued in less than one hour, while 94.14% were issued within a day through automated procedures.
Currently, 19 agencies are actively integrated into the BSW system, including the DGDA, EPB, DoEX, BNACWC, BEZA, BEPZA, DoE, BSTI, BAERA, BAEC, CAAB, BTRC, DOF, DLS, PQW, BIDA, BGMEA, BKMEA, and CCI&E. The government has made it mandatory for these agencies to issue their CLPs via the BSW platform.
Today’s MoU between the NBR and BAERA is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration for smooth operation of the system.
So far, the NBR has signed MoUs with 38 offices, ministries, and agencies to implement the BSW system.
All stakeholders involved in import and export trade are urged to cooperate in ensuring the successful implementation of the Bangladesh Single Window, reports UNB.
