Tannery owners bought a total of 5,50,000 rawhides on Eid day on Sunday and the next day on Monday.
The collection was 2,50,000 higher than that of the previous year.
Of the 550,000 rawhides, around 3,50,000 were collected on the Eid day (July 10), Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA) Chairman Shahin Ahmed confirmed.
Shahin Ahmed said that they will collect salted rawhides from various warehouses in and outside Dhaka from Thursday.
They will expect to collect around 90,0,000-950,000 rawhides this season.
Md Shakhawat Ullah, BTA secretary and managing director of Salma Tannery, said they will start collecting salted rawhides from the warehouses in Dhaka from Wednesday.
Eid-ul-Azha was held in the country on Sunday (July 10).
