Rajshahi, 9 Oct - China claimed both the girls' singles and doubles titles at the 31st International Under-18 Junior Tennis Tournament in Rajshahi on Friday.
In the girls' singles final at the Rajshahi Tennis Complex, China's Jimo Song defeated compatriot Jensi Dong 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the title without dropping a game.
Later, the Chinese pair of Xiang Jiang and Shuang Zhu won the girls' doubles title in a more competitive final.
Tournament referee Joy Mukherjee said Song's singles final proved one-sided, while praising the Chinese players for their overall performance.
"The Chinese players have played quite well throughout the tournament," he said.
Meanwhile, Thailand's Likul Partcharapul and Taiwan's Jiche Chen will face each other in the boys' singles final on Saturday.
Partcharapul advanced to the final by defeating Hong Kong's Chun Kiu Lok in Friday's semifinal, while Chen secured his place in the title clash with a victory over China's Fang Tianyi.
Mukherjee expects a competitive final, noting that both players have good rankings and reached the title match after winning several tough encounters.
The tournament began on October 5 at the Rajshahi Tennis Complex and will conclude on Saturday. More than 100 players from 10 countries, including hosts Bangladesh, are participating in the competition.BSS
