Sharjah University hosts AFSMC-PCST Symposium 3-4 Feb 2026

Sharjah University hosted a special Symposium with the PCST (Public Communication of Science and Technologie) and AFSMC (Arab Forum of Science Media and Communication) in MENA region for the first time from 3-4 February 2026.

This special edition of the PCST symposium explores the critical theme oft advancing Science Media and Communication Teaching and Research in the Arab World. With its unique challenges and opportunities, how it can respond to regional needs while contributing to the global conversation.

The symposium aimed to foster collaboration, build bridges among academics, practitioners, and policymakers on the regional and global levels. Highlight Innovations, shared applied teaching methods and practical case studies relevent to Arab region. Showcase successful case studies, new approaches, and practical solutions for teaching and practicing science communication in the Arab World and to Bridge Gaps of the shortage of localized training resources and region-specific research in science communication.

It tried to featuring a global organisation that promotes discussion on the theory and practice of communicating science, and of public discourses about science and technology and their role in society.

This landmark event brought together researchers, educators, practitioners, and policymakers under the theme “Science Media and Communication Teaching and Research in the Arab World. Through expert-led discussions, insightful panels, and collaborative workshops, participants engaged with cutting-edge ideas to advance science media and communication in the Arab World, with a strong focus on teaching, research, and innovation.
