Taxation measures to affect prices of some goods & services

Dhaka, June 6 - Prices of some products and services may go up and some others go down as a result of changes in taxes and duties proposed in the budget for 2024-25.
There might be rise in the prices of mobile phone and internet services, furnace oil, lubricants, mineral lubricants, base oil, cigarettes, CNG conversion kits, and cylinders, Air conditioners and refrigerators, water filter, LED bulb, imported cashew nuts, ice cream, carbonated beverages, amusement parks, theme parks, and tourism services.
On the other hand, there might be decrease in the prices of some other products and services, including rice, edible oil, sugar, chickpeas, milk, wheat, aircraft engines, propellers, powdered milk, motorcycle, dengue test kits, dialysis filters and dialysis circuit products, cancer treatment equipments, carpets, electric motor and laptop.
