Iran has delivered its response to a US proposal aimed at ending the more than two-month-long war, sending it through mediator Pakistan, according to Iran’s state-linked IRNA news agency.

A source familiar with the matter said Iran’s proposal suggests that the current phase of negotiations should focus solely on halting hostilities in the region.

Sources from both sides told Reuters that the latest diplomatic efforts are centered on a possible temporary memorandum of understanding to pause the conflict and restore traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. This would allow time for broader negotiations on a comprehensive agreement addressing long-standing disputes, including Iran’s nuclear programme.
