The BNP, which secured a massive victory in the 13th parliamentary election, has convened a meeting of its parliamentary party on Tuesday.

BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed on Monday said the meeting will be held at 11:30am at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban after the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected members of parliament (MPs).

“The parliamentary party meeting will be held following the swearing-in of the BNP’s elected MPs,” he said, adding that the parliamentary party meeting will elect the Leader of the House.

“As the leader of the majority party, our party chairman Tarique Rahman will become the Prime Minister, Insha’Allah,” Salahuddin added.

BNP won 209 out of 297 seats in the parliamentary elections held on Thursday, reports UNB.
