
The launch of a new electoral alliance Jatiya Muslim Note was announced at a news conference at the National Press Club on Friday 26 Dec 2025.
The debut of the National Muslim Alliance led by Bangladesh Muslim League was announced on Friday with the aim of building a prosperous Bangladesh against hegemony in the spirit of July.
At a press conference organized at the Manik Mia Hall of the National Press Club on the occasion, the alliance's chief coordinator and Muslim League Secretary General Kazi Abul Khair said that they will do the politics of Muslim nationalism and will nominate candidates in the upcoming elections.
He demanded that the date for filing nomination papers be extended by 3 days for the convenience of the candidates, as there are several weekends and government holidays.
Kazi Abul Khair said that Nawab Sir Salimullah formed the Muslim League calling an all-India conference in Dhaka. If the party had not achieved independence in 1947, today's Bangladesh would not have been established through the war of independence in 1971.
He said that the people of this country have repeatedly struggled and made sacrifices to establish their rights. He paid tribute to the martyrs of 1947, 1971, 1990 and 2024 and said that the struggle to preserve Muslim national identity must continue to free this country from the clutches of hegemony.
He said that the leaders of the July Uprising are committed to protecting the political and cultural heritage of the people of Bangladesh. Therefore, in the spirit of July, they have formed this new alliance to organise people for building a prosperous Bangladesh.
Participating parties of the alliance are: Bangladesh Muslim League, Nagorik Odhikar Party, Ganmukti Jote, Bangladesh Justice Party, Sarbobhoumtya Surakkha Parishad, Muslim Samaj and Bangladesh National Democratic Party (BNDP). The number of parties may increase. The candidates of this alliance will participate in the elections with the symbol of the Muslim League, the hurricane.
Among others, Masud Hossain of the Muslim community, Justice Party Chairman Abul Kashem Majumder, Bangladesh National Democratic Party's Tajul Islam Labu, Citizens' Rights Party's Adv Rabiul Hossain and Adv Ziaur Rahman, and Ganmukti Jote Chairman Dr. Shahriar Iftekhar Fuad spoke at the press conference.
