Dhaka, Oct 15 – BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the early hours of Thursday for health check-ups.

She left her Gulshan residence, Firoza, around 11:40pm and reached the hospital at about 12:20am, said BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.

Her personal physician Prof AZM Zahid Hossain said Khaleda was admitted to the hospital at night for some medical tests as advised by her medical board.

“The medical board will sit tomorrow to review her test reports and decide on the next course of treatment,” he said.

Khaleda last visited Evercare Hospital on August 28 for several routine tests and returned home the same night after completing them.

The 80-year-old former Prime Minister has long been suffering from arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung and eye complications, among other health issues. - UNB
