No division between Hindus, Muslims in country: Rizvi

He said, "There is no division between Hindus and Muslims in this country. Our food, clothing, thoughts — everything is the same. This is the beauty of Bangladesh." 

Rizvi made the remarks after visiting the Durga Puja celebration at the Ramna Kali Mandir in the city this evening. 

Rizvi offered Sharadiya greetings on behalf of BNP to the followers of Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism). He added that when one community lives with others, their major festival becomes a festival for everyone. Festivals never create division; instead, they convey a message of harmony among people. 

"We greet each other on these days of celebration,” he mentioned. 

The veteran BNP leader asserted that though the religions are different, our national identity is the same. "Rabindranath Tagore, Nazrul, and Lalon belong to all of us. There is no wall of religion there. Sheikh Hasina created division for the sake of power. However, there is no division among us. This is the beauty of Bangladesh. Because people of all faiths are working together, all conspiracies are being thwarted." 

Rizvi noted that various conspiracies are still ongoing. "Attempts are being made to create an unstable situation in remote areas. They are busy exploiting this time of the Puja. These are not isolated incidents. A certain group has been abetting this for a long time." 

He emphasized that everyone must ensure that communal harmony is not broken in any way. He concluded with a strong warning that if anyone casts an evil eye on a single inch of the country's land, they will be dealt with firmly, reports BSS.
