A four-member delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, led by its Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman, held a meeting today with representatives of the European Parliament at the European Union Embassy in Dhaka.

The Jamaat delegation included Nayeb-e-Ameer and former lawmaker Dr Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, and the party chief's foreign affairs adviser, Professor Dr Mahmudul Hasan.

Following the meeting, Dr Taher told reporters that the discussion was cordial and focused on the current political situation in Bangladesh, including the upcoming February elections, reports BSS.

"They mainly asked whether the election would be free and fair, and how it would be conducted," he said during a press briefing.
