BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan today said the party seeks a fair and acceptable national election in the coming days to uphold the country's democratic values.

Speaking as the chief guest at a pre-rally gathering organized by Sylhet District and Metropolitan BNP, he emphasized that the party not only wants an election date but also demands a free, fair, and acceptable voting process.

Moyeen praised last night's announcement by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus that the next national elections will be held in February, terming it a victory for both Tarique Rahman's leadership and the people.

"BNP is ready for the elections and will participate to secure victory. Party leaders and activists must prepare for this," Dr. Moyeen Khan said, urging members to work with justice, dedication, and unity to form a strong government.

Following the gathering, a victory rally was brought out from Sylhet Registry Ground, parading through key city roads and concluding at the Central Shaheed Minar in Chowhatta.

The event drew leaders and activists from the district and metropolitan BNP, including Chairperson's Advisor Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, District President Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury, General Secretary Emran Ahmed Chowdhury, and Metropolitan General Secretary Emdad Hossain Chowdhury, along with members of Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Mohila Dal, and affiliated organizations, reports BSS.
