Red Notice Sought for Hasina, 11 in Uprising Case

An application has been submitted to Interpol seeking a Red Notice against ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 11 others. All of them are wanted in connection with the July uprising case and are currently on the run.

According to sources in the Bangladesh Police and the International Crimes Tribunal, the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Bangladesh Police made the request in three separate phases.

The 11 others named in the application include Obaidul Quader, former Minister of Road Transport and Bridges; Asaduzzaman Khan, former Home Minister; A K M Mozammel Haque, former Liberation War Affairs Minister; Hasan Mahmud, former Foreign Minister; Jahangir Kabir Nanak, former Minister for Textiles and Jute; Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury, former Education Minister; Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, former Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation; Major General (Retd.) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, former Defence Adviser; Nasrul Hamid, former State Minister for Power; Mohammad Ali Arafat, former State Minister for Information; and Benazir Ahmed, former Inspector General of Police.
