Dhaka, September 15 — Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch has arrested former Minister of Culture, Asaduzzaman Noor, from the Nawraton Colony on Bailey Road at 11:00 PM on Sunday night.

Asaduzzaman Noor has been named as an accused in a case filed with Mirpur Police Station.

Asaduzzaman Noor, a prominent cultural figure, has represented the Awami League in Parliament since 2001. He was elected as the Member of Parliament for Nilphamari-2 in the most recent 12th National Parliament elections. Noor assumed the role of Minister of Culture on January 12, 2014, following the Awami League’s victory in the 10th National Parliament elections held on January 5, 2013.
