2 held for setting fire to police vehicle

Police arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in setting fire to a police vehicle and a passenger bus in the capital on October 28.

The arrested are Mohiuddin Hriday, 36, senior joint convener of Jatiyatababi Jubo Dal of Ward-19 unit and its convener Md Al Amin Mahin.

A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) of Ramna zone arrested them during a raid from the city's Khilgaon area, said a press release today.

Police also seized a shirt used in the fire-incident, a bottle filled with petrol, a motorcycle, a helmet and an old 'Khaki'- coloured pant from their possession.

On October 28, BNP leaders and workers set fire to a police vehicle and a bus in the Shantinagar area of the city, reports BSS.
