Detective Branch (DB) of police on Monday pleaded to acquit Amatullah Bushra in a case lodged over the death of her friend and BUET student Fardin Noor Parash, 24, as they filed a final report in the case.

Investigation Officer (IO) and DB Inspector Yasin Shikder filed the report with General Registration Wing of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. The case was scheduled to be heard on February 14.

Dhaka 7th Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Tehsin Iftekhar on January 8 granted bail to Amatullah Bushra in the case.

Earlier DB officials said they have found no involvement of Bushra in the death of Fardin, who they believe committed suicide.

Police on November 10, 2022, arrested Bushra from her Rampura flat and produced her before the court, pleading to place her on a seven-day remand while Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan of Dhaka CMM Court had placed her on a five-day remand that day.
