Two pipe bombs defused by DMP bomb disposal unit

The Bomb Disposal Unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)'s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit has defused two unexploded pipe bombs recovered from the Demra area through a controlled explosion.


According to a DMP press release, two unexploded pipe bombs were recovered from Jewel alias Ostad, who was arrested from the Nijhumbag area of West Boxnagar under Demra Police Station around 8:30 pm on Sunday.

Later, members of the Bomb Disposal Unit rushed to the spot and safely neutralised the two bombs using detonating cord in a controlled explosion.

The bombs were successfully defused with necessary safety measures and with a high degree of professionalism and expertise. 

No casualties or property damage were reported in the incident.

Further legal action in connection with the incident is underway, reports BSS.
