Sajjadur Rahman appointed as new KMP commissioner

The government has appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Md. Sajjadur Rahman as the new Commissioner of the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), replacing Mohammad Zahidul Hasan.


The appointment was announced in a notification issued on Wednesday by the Police-1 Branch of the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The order, issued in the name of the President, was signed by Deputy Secretary Tofayel Ahmed.

According to the notification, Md. Sajjadur Rahman, a BCS (Police) cadre officer who had been serving as DIG of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn), has been transferred and posted as the Commissioner of the KMP.

The order has been issued in the public interest and will take immediate effect, it added.

Earlier on July 21, former KMP Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan was transferred as DIG of the Mymensingh Range, reports BSS.
