3 UPDF men held with arms, ammo in Khagrachhari

Members of the joint forces in a drive arrested three activists of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) along with firearms and ammunition in Matiranga upazila of Khagrachhari district on Thursday.


The arrestees were identified as Hlaprusai Marma, 26, son of Thoaigya Marma, Tejendra Chakma, 27, son of Sumilla Chakma, and Biswa Tripura, 32, son of Mohon Tripura of the upazila.

Tipped off, a team of army personnel and police conducted a drive in different parts of the upazila and arrested them, said Md Shahed, officer-in-charge of Matiranga Police Station, reports UNB.

The law enforcers also recovered one LG gun, one pistol, one magazine, two bullets, two LG cartridges, one toy pistol, one knife, one pair of shoes, Tk 11,000 in cash and three bags from their possession, said police.
