13 senior police officers sent into compulsory retirement

The government has sent 13 senior police officers with the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Additional DIG into compulsory retirement.


The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday, saying the action was taken in public interest under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018.

Those who were sent on compulsory retirement are Police Staff College DIG Dr AFM Masum Rabbani, Tourist Police Additional DIG Md Sakhawat Hossain, Rangpur PTC Commandant (DIG, fugitive) Md Ashrafuzzaman, Anti-Terrorism Unit DIGs AZM Nafiul Islam and Md Monirul Islam, and River Police DIG Mohammad Abul Faiz.

The others are DIG of Police Headquarters Mahfuzur Rahman, DIG of APBN Headquarters Md Munibur Rahman, Additional DIG attached to Rangpur Range DIG Office Md Iqbal Hossain, DIG (TR) at Police Headquarters Shamima Begum, DIG of Industrial Police Md Abu Kalam Siddique, DIG of Police Telecom Md Aminul Islam, and DIG of APBN (Hill Districts) Salma Begum.

The officers will be entitled to retirement benefits as per rules, added the notification, reports UNB.
