Archers go through a frustrating day

Dhaka, 22 April - It was a frustrating day for both Bangladesh men's and women's archery teams as they lost their respective team event  matches of the ongoing Archery World Cup 2022 stage-1 now being held in  Antalya, Turkey.

On the third day of the recurve men's team event elimination (knock out) round match held on Thursday last night, Bangladesh archery team featuring Sagor Islam, Mohammad Hakim Ahmed Rubel and ace archer Ruman Sana lost to their Croatia's rival by 1-5 sets point in the round of 1/12 match.

While in the recurve women's team event, Bangladesh archery team featuring promising archer Diya Siddique, Famida Sultana Nesha and Nasrin Akter failed to move to the semifinal as they lost to their Italian rivals by 2-6 sets in the pre quarterfinal.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Ashikuzzaman lost to his Denmark's rival Fullerton Mathias 142-147 in the round of 16 in the compound men's singles elimination round match.

Earlier, he reached to the round of 16 beating his Hungary rival Orosz Viktor 145-140 in the /132 match.
