Alif, Rubel lose elimination round

Dhaka, 23 Feb - It was disappointing day as Abdur Rahman Alif, Md Sagor Islam lost their respective recurve men's singles emanation round matches of the 2024 Asia Cup Statge-1 (World Ranking Tournament) held Friday in Bagdad, Iraq.

Alif lost to Chen Yuy Yao of Uzbekistan by 0-6 set while Sagor Islam lost to De Silva of Sri Lanka by 4-6 set.

Rubel, however, managed to cross the quarter final stage, but he eventually lost to Tarundeep Rai of India by 2-6 set in the semifinal. 

In the compound women's singles elimination round event, Meghla Rani lost her India rival Parneet Kaur by 138-146 score in the round of 1/8 match.
