Baishakhi Sports Festival to be held Tuesday

Dhaka, 11 April - Baishakhi Sports Festival, marking the Bengali New Year 1433, will be held at Paltan ground adjacent to the National Stadium on April 14.

Mashumi Industries Limited will organise the day-long competition, which will feature traditional rural sports of the country.

The sports include archery, volleyball, Sepak Takraw, Kho Kho, Kabaddi, Lathi Khela, Boli Khela, the traditional wrestling sport of Chattogram, along with nearly extinct rural games and an exhibition of para-athletes.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque is expected to attend as chief guest, while Youth and Sports Ministry Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam will attend as special guest.BSS
