There is no shortage of individuals who speak out in support of illegal, unethical and inhuman behaviour. Obviously, this is encouraging the offenders to carry out damaging and harmful acts.

The cognizant members of the society are not supposed to support the wrongdoings and wrong doers, but we see them come forward and do so without hesitation . The question arises why some people are in favour of damaging and destructive activities. Although it is a complex and multifaceted issue, let us try to pinpoint the most common causes that are frequently seen behind :.

1. Economic Interest : Financial rewards or personal benefits can persuade people to support the activities they are aware are unethical.

2. Ideological Beliefs : Strong ideological beliefs can sometimes override a persons' moral sense, causing them to endorse activities that are inconsistent with their ideology, even if they are ethically questionable.

3. Fear of Consequences : If someone publicly opposes unethical behaviour, they may worry about their relationship or social isolation.

4. Moral Relativism : Some people hold the view that morality is arbitrary, and that what one person deems immoral may not be viewed as such by another.

5. Social Pressure : Peer pressure or desire to fit in with the particular group can lead individuals to support actions they would otherwise find unethical.

6. Lack of knowledge :Sometimes people may not have access to accurate information or may be misinformed about the nature of the activities they are supporting.

7. Cognitive Dissonance : People may rationalise their support for unethical behaviour to lessen their discomfort of holding conflicting beliefs or values.

Let me reiterate it is a complex and multifaceted issue, therefore, we think open and respectful dialogue is essential to understand why individuals support such activities that are destructive and harmful to the society, the country at large.

Education, awareness and fostering emphathy can also play an important role in addressing the issue.
