BSRF held biennial general meeting on Friday

The Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF), a professional organisation of journalists working in the Bangladesh Secretariat, held its biennial general meeting, 2025.


The meeting took place at Samson H Hall of Dhaka Club on Friday.

Moderated by BSRF General Secretary Masudul Hoque, the session was presided over by the organisation’s President, Fasih Uddin Mahtab.

During the meeting, the current committee presented its income and expenditure accounts for the past two years, along with a report highlighting the organisation’s activities during this period.

The inaugural session was attended by distinguished guests, including Hasan Hafiz, President of the National Press Club, Editor of Daily Kaler Kantho, and Chief Election Commissioner of BSRF; Quader Gani Chowdhury, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Member Secretary of Bangladesh Sammilit Peshajibi Parishad; Shahidul Islam, President of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ); along with DUJ General Secretary Khurshid Alam, and Mainul Hasan Sohel, General Secretary of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU).

BSRF Founding President Syed Shahnewaz Karim and General Secretary Nurul Alam Shaheen, also spoke on the occasion.

An open discussion was also held, with the participation of former presidents Shyamal Sarkar and Tapan Biswas; former General Secretary Siddiqur Rahman; founding joint secretary Ehsanul Haque Babu; organizing secretary Ajmal Haque Helal; treasurer Ahmed Dipu; founding member Shakhawat Hosne Badsha; and other members, reports UNB.
