
A sufficient number of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order, said Shariful Islam, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of BGB headquarters.
According to the programme, following Jumma prayers, Tarique Rahman will visit the grave of BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman.
He is later expected to pay homage to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar.
Tarique Rahman returned to Bangladesh on Thursday morning after nearly 17 years in exile.
Upon his arrival, he called BNP Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus expressed gratitude for the arrangements and security provided during his return.
The day witnessed a massive public turnout, as the reception at the 300 Feet venue in the capital drew enthusiastic party leaders, activists and supporters, reports UNB.
