A labour leader of the National Citizen Party (NCP) was injured in a gun attack in Khulna city

Motaleb Shikdar, Khulna divisional chief of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and central organiser of the party’s Jatiya Sramik Shakti, was shot in the head on Monday.

Dr Mahmuda Mitu, NCP joint chief organiser, confirmed the attack on social media, saying Shikdar was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

The incident follows a recent attack on Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, highlighting growing concerns over targeted political violence in the country.
