To commemorate the 54th anniversary of independence, a total of 54 paratroopers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force will perform a flag-bearing skydive. The display is expected to be recognised as the world’s largest flag-parachuting event, setting a new Guinness World Record.
Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman, Chief Adviser’s Principal Secretary M Siraz Uddin Miah, Senior Secretary of the Home Affairs Ministry Nasimul Ghani, Senior Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry Md Ehsanul Hoque, the Principal Staff Officer, the Defence Ministry Secretary, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed preparations across ministries to celebrate Victory Day through extensive nationwide programmes.
As part of the day’s events, the Army, Navy, and Air Force will hold separate fly-past demonstrations at the old Tejgaon Airport from 11:00am, followed by a special Victory Day band show.
At 11:40am, the 54-member “Team Bangladesh” will execute their historic flag-bearing parachute jump. The event will be open to the public.
Armed forces will also conduct similar fly-pasts in other major cities. Additionally, the Police, BGB, and Ansar will organise band shows nationwide, all open to the public.
