A large number of people gathered at the Kamalapur Railway Station on Saturday to get their hands on advance tickets to their desired destinations for Eid-ul-Fitr.
People were seen waiting outside of ticket booths from early hours. The lines of ticket seekers became long.
Advance tickets for inter-city trains for April 27 are being sold today (April 23) while the tickets for April 28, 29, 30 and May 1 will be sold on April 24, 25, 26, and 27 respectively.
Fifty percent tickets will be sold from counters and the rest online.
According to sources, people used to gather at Kamalapur Railway Station to fetch train tickets every year. But last two years this scenario was not seen as tickets were given online due to Covid-19.
During visit it was seen, many people spent whole night at the railway station to get their tickets. The entire stations were found packed with ticket seekers by the morning. Queues before the ticket counters were longer.
Besides, the selling of return tickets will begin from the second day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
