None to be allowed to travel on train roof: Home Adviser
Home Adviser Lieutenant General Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd) today asked all concerned to take appropriate measures as none can travel on train roofs by risking their lives ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha.
"We have been trying our best to make sure that the passengers cannot travel on the train roof. We will not allow it," he said while replying to a question after visiting the Kamlapur Railway Station in the capital.
He also called upon the media to play its due role in making people aware of the risks of travelling on train roofs.
Responding to another question, the Home Adviser said there is almost no railway ticket black marketing.
"The complaints of railway ticket black marketing have reduced to almost zero level," he said.
Jahangir has also vowed to take tougher legal action against the ticket black market, if there.
The Home Adviser said all the preparations have already been completed to ensure a pleasant journey for the homebound passengers.
"There will be no trouble. Thirty one trains have already left Kamlapur Railway Station. Four to five trains have been delayed by five to six minutes," he said.
He continued that 35 more trains will leave the Kamlapur Railway Station today without any delay, reports BSS.
