Govt Committed to Addressing Workers' Demands: Home Ministry

The government is actively working to address the legitimate demands of workers, including garment workers, and is committed to fulfilling these rightful requests, according to a statement from the Home Ministry.

“The government is fully committed to addressing the just demands of workers, including garment workers and those in other industrial sectors. Efforts are underway to implement these demands, with instructions issued to factory owners and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA). Their activities are being closely monitored,” the statement read.

However, the ministry emphasized that disruptions in the garment industry, such as protests based on unreasonable or unjustified demands, road blockages, and any acts of violence or anarchy, will not be tolerated under any circumstances. "Such activities will not be accepted, and strict actions will be taken against them," the statement warned.

To ensure stability in the garment and other industrial sectors, as well as to maintain law and order across the country, the government called for cooperation from both factory owners and workers. The statement reiterated the importance of working together to preserve a secure and peaceful environment.
