Dhaka, 8 Aug - Former cricketer and coach Arifa Jahan Bithi has got back his job as the manager of the Women's Cricket team in the Rangpur Division.

In a facebook post, she confirmed the news, stating that with full dignity she was reinstated as the manager after being dismissed for helping the student protestors with biscuits and snacks during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

The mass movement led to the fall of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who resigned and fled on August 5.

"Alhamdulillah, I have been given back my position as the manager of the Women's Cricket team in Rangpur Division with full dignity," She wrote, adding that she will be grateful to those who helped here in her tough times.

"Earlier I was dismissed from my post for helping the student protestors and the family of martyr Abu Sayed bhai. When I asked why I am sacked, they reasoned that I helped the students and family of Abu Sayed. Cricket is my second family."

Rangpur's Abu Sayed was among the first killed in police firing during student-led mass movement.
