Dengue: 3 more die; 467 new hospitalized in 24hrs

Health officials today said they recorded 467 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.

“During the period, (of the 467) 67 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 69 in Chattogram division, 70 in Dhaka division, 57 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 62 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 66 in Khulna division, 21 in Mymensingh division, 32 in Rajshahi division, 20 in Rangpur division and 3 in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 53 deaths while the disease inflicted 15,157.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024, reports BSS.
