Hajj 2027 Primary Registration Begins on July 27

The primary registration process for Hajj 2027 will begin on 27 July and continue until 24 September this year, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The ministry announced the schedule in line with the roadmap for Hajj programmes issued by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

Pilgrims wishing to perform Hajj will have to complete their primary registration within the scheduled period. They can register through government or private agencies by depositing Tk3.5 lakh.

Before completing the initial registration, pilgrims must complete pre-registration by paying Tk30,000.

Those who complete primary registration will have to pay the remaining amount of their selected Hajj package by 10 December and complete the final registration process.

Under the government system, applicants can register by creating a user account on the e-Hajj system through the official Hajj portal. Registration facilities will also be available at union digital centres, Islamic Foundation divisional and district offices, district and upazila model mosques, the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office and the Dhaka Hajj Office.

Pilgrims intending to perform Hajj through the government scheme will have to deposit money through vouchers at any branch of Sonali Bank.

Those travelling through private Hajj agencies will have to deposit payments into the bank accounts specified by the respective agencies. Account details will be available on the profiles of approved agencies on the Hajj portal.

The ministry has also outlined health-related restrictions for pilgrims. Individuals below 15 years of age will not be allowed to perform Hajj. People suffering from serious chronic illnesses, including heart, lung, liver or kidney diseases, neurological or mental disorders, dementia, or those undergoing cancer treatment such as chemotherapy, biological therapy or radiotherapy will also be restricted.

Pilgrims with active infectious diseases affecting public health, including tuberculosis and haemorrhagic fever, will not be eligible. Female pilgrims in the final two months of pregnancy or with high-risk pregnancies will not be issued fitness certificates.

During primary registration, pilgrims will need to select their district for training and vaccination, preferred Hajj type and package. A passport valid until 31 December 2027 will also be required, the ministry said.
